{Inexpensive candle holders}
By Mermaid Debbie
I feel good about buying food items in glass jars because not only are they recyclable, but they can be repurposed, as well. I love to use them for candles.

Fill the jars about 1/3 of the way with a variety of materials and the appropriate size candle for the jar you choose.
- Small pebbles
- Rocks
- Shells
- Coffee beans
- Sand
- Marbles
- Aquarium rock in various colors
- Epsom salt to look like snow
- popcorn kernels
- bird seed
- squirrel feed
- candy corn
- red hot candies
A grouping of different sized jars with different colors of aquarium rock will look great on your porch or patio ( It even comes in a red, white, and blue mixture); Buy small shells at the craft store, or save from beach vacations; Coffee beans with a vanilla or apple scented candle make a wonderful aroma; Epsom salt and red candles are festive during the holidays. Red hot candies with a white candle make a great Christmas or Valentine's Day candle jar. Try candy corn, bird seed, pop corn kernels or squirrel feed for a great fall jar.
Here are some examples. Have fun!
