One reader sent us this darling picture saying, "One of my favorite places, Galway Lake, Galway NY. My friend's dock is one that I have frequented for most of my life. We are a group of four girlfriends who have lived a lifetime together and in our mid-thirties continue to do so. This year my daughter (the one jumping into the lake) has now too become a Galway girl. We've stepped foot on that dock and taken many pictures with Galway lake for many occasions... proms, weddings, showers (rain and wedding) to laugh to cry, to share advice and most of the time to share a glass of wine and some good laughter.

We've floated on our tubes and let go of many heart breaks, which have sunk to the bottom, only to allow our inspiration to float to the top. We've gone through many stages of our lives with Galway Lake and it ties all of us together... forever.

So when it comes time to break out the floats and untangle the fishing poles we gather from different towns and different places in life and still go back to "the dock". This photo means so much. My dear friend who is in the water with her arms spread open welcoming my daughter as well as summer symbolizes our lives and the peace that we feel when we come here. Im assured that it will be that way for a long time!"

Reader, Julie Ryen sent us the beautiful picture of her special lake place. This is her husband, "Grandpa" with his two grandaughters.

Julie says, "I grew up spending summers at my grandmothers lake cabin on Lake Cocolalla in Northern Idaho (on I95 10 miles south of Sandpoint). Spending summers at the "lake" were a huge part of my foundation and I made sure it was the same for my daughter and now my two granddaughters. My husband and I now maintain and own this property. We will be hosting the annual 4th of July family get together there this coming week. (July 2012) Our granddaughters look forward to "going to the lake" each summer and that makes the work and maintenance of owning a piece of lake property so worth it! Life would not be the same without lake property and it is one the main reasons for staying here in the Northwest."
