{Dive into a Creative Spring}
Oh what a beautiful morning. The changes that are occurring in our home community sure get the creative juices flowing - the smells of the new growth, the bird calls over the lake, the colors popping out in gardens and yards, the feel of bright and lovely sun on our faces - all make us excited to celebrate the season. What better way then to create right along with all the glorious new life around us. In this issue of Mermaids of the Lake we celebrate the renewed liveliness and creativity spring brings by highlighting recipes that are fresh and colorful, featuring fun art projects, and reveling in the glories of nature. Spring is Bursting with Beauty!
It's such a glorious time of year. Celebrate the season with us as we welcome the stunning beauty and heady scent of the flowers that adorn our hillsides, country lanes, and back yards - the lilac. Drink in Spring
{Lavender Lemonade} 6 cup water In a 2 quart saucepan, combine 2 cups water, sugar, lavender and lemon zest. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let syrup stand for 10 minutes. Strain and discard lavender. In a large pitcher, stir syrup, lemon juice and remaining 4 cups water. Serve over ice with lemon slices.
